2004 Tradeshow TEECO Row Raises $6,084 for WPGA Scholarship Fund in Reno (Click images to enlarge) Reno, NV– TEECO Row raised $6,084 for the WPGA Scholarship Fund at the WPGA Show in Reno this year. A total of $9,454 was raised by all exhibitors for the fund. “TEECO supports the WPGA Scholarship Fund,” said Dwaine Goodwin, President, TEECO Products, “and we felt the silent auction provided a good fund-raising vehicle. We decided to get really involved with it. Our goal was to at least double the amount we raised last year.” TEECO Row nearly tripled last year’s TEECO fundraiser amount. The scholarship fund awards grants from $250 to $1,500 to industry members’ children who are graduating Seniors bound for college. In 2004, eleven kids received scholarship grants. Many of the 978 people who attended the convention bid on the items offered for auction. High bidders walked away with great deals, and it was all for a great cause everyone can feel good about. Starting from the top, Jeff Stewart, of Blue Star Gas, won the PACA LPG Dispenser and a Stainless Steel Homestead Patio heater donated by TEECO. Many thanks to Corken/Idex for donating the pump and motor, and to Tuthill FPP for donating the meter and ELNC display that went into the dispenser. Bob Hundley, of Campora Propane Service, won the Grand Cafe 2000 Grill donated by TEECO. Carole Start, of All American Propane, won the stainless steel serving cart donated by TEECO. Mike and Amy Hicks, of Central Coast Propane, got the Tankless water heater donated by Paloma Industries and the 155 piece tool set donated by Rochester Gauges. John Chasuk, of Napa Valley Petroleum, won the McCarthy Valve tool set. Cora Marquez, of J&C Transport, won the Napa Valley food and gift pack donated by RegO. Mary Burgess, of Fairmont Specialty Group, took home a Wolfgang Puck Cooking set donated by R.W. Lyall. Hot Plates donated by TEECO were won by David Ortega, of Kamps Propane, Rudy Forster, of Granite Propane, and Sean Darrah, of BASE Engineering. David and Rudy each also took home an Olympian 4100 grill donated by TEECO. Bill Halterman, of Suburban Propane, won an Olympian 4100 grill donated by TEECO. Smith Precision and Full Circle donated a personal DVD Player, and AlGas-SDI contributed a Silver Legacy Hotel gift certificate. TEECO salutes participating manufacturers’ for their magnanimity in contributing to the silent auction. They make it possible for TEECO Row to have a most successful show year after year. Many thanks to RegO Products, Corken, Smith Precision, Full Circle, Worthington Cylinders, Algas-SDI, Rochester Gauges, Paloma Industries, Dormont Mfg., RW Lyall, RSS, Liquid Controls, Trinity Industries, Sumter Coatings McCarthy Tool and Tuthill. TEECO would also like to commend Mary Reynolds and the staff at WPGA for the countless hours they spend putting together a quality show for the industry. “"This year's 55th Annual Western Regional Propane Convention and Trade Show was the best one yet in terms of the quality of the seminars and number of attendees and exhibitors.,” Mary said. “Attendance was up this year by 9% over last year.“ “As I walked through the trade show it was nice to see so many exhibitors busy talking with customers,” Mary said. “In fact, one exhibitor mentioned he had so much traffic at his booth he didn't have a chance to walk the exhibit hall.” ### |
